I am working on a slide show and want to combine pieces of a few songs to play in the background. I have Cakewalk Express 8.0 but I don't even know if it is the right software for this project.

I tried to delete a portion from a track. I set a marker and deleted it but when I hit play again, that part of the song still played even though it was blank on the screen.

Can anyone help?
