Message:I am recording a 4-part French Horn piece, recording one track at a time then mixing them together for a quartet. Each track recorded (when played back) has high-frequency "clicks" embedded in the audio wave file. If I do the record with everything set the same, but don't play, the recorded track is absolutely quiet - no clicks. This indicates to me that it is not some loose connection somewhere. The clicks occur at random times, at random volume levels. This is the only application running.I have recorded a lot of tracks previously - have produced several CDs with no problem in the past. So this is a new problem with the same equipment. Equipment is 500 MHz PC with 384 MB RAM, 40 GB disk, Eurorack 12-channel mixer, Sound Blaster Live, Sony Power amp and Bose speakers. It seems to me that the clicking noise is being generated somewhere in the digitizing process. Changing the recording level has no effect on the number of clicks. These clicks are VERY annoying and essentially make the recorded tracks useless. If anyone can help me resolve this problem I would be very grateful.
