Message:
I have sonar I with a p4 2.4g dell (the least proprietary system as I could get from dell) which has soundblaster live (money issues), AND am using the midi input via 15pin din connector on the card, and trying to also use the stereo line in on the card too.

First the midi problem; Timing does NOT track with the metronome. Being a keyboard player and drummer, am extremely frustrated with the sequencer's radical Timing issues, which so far seem arbitrary. Sometimes I have to shift almost 1/4 measure. To top it all, what I rhythmically play is NOT coming back at all like, how I played it, which I presume both problems are a latency issue?

Now the audio problem; Sonar vs1 will not recognize sbl as a stereo card. I have thousands of out of print jazz lp's to archive on cd. I would like to use sonar for eq, and editing. I have acid, which works fine for recording lp,s and magnetic tape medium etc, and recognizes that sbl is a stereo card. What is the problem with sonar? My hope is I can get sonar to recognize a stereo input from SBL. Otherwise I will starv my family an go to the next step below.

If worse case scenario, and W/O tearing the box open (maybe use USB), what is available under $200 to (maybe) $250 that will be a match for sonar, and do midi, audio in and out, and maybe even provide decent built in sounds.

Thanks for any and all help
Mike
