Hey-I had the same problem with recording tracks where the new track would still have the old track recorded in it-This happened in both Acid 4.0 and Guitar tracks-I disabled the onboard sound on my PC and put in a soundcard (phillips) although I am sure most commercial soundcards would work. If the windows tweaks the others suggested do not work, buy a fairly cheap soundcard ($20 or 30 US dollars), put it in the PCI slot, and it should work-It did for me last night. As soon as the new soundcard was set up, I was good to go!
