Message:
I'm in the Music Department at Wake Forest University. Our computer tech advisor who is not "versed" in Sibelius yet suggested that I contact you with a couple of questions.

I'm working on some arrangements for marching band and have had trouble extracting parts.

My first attempt at extracting parts "left behind" the clarinet and trumpet parts. These were listed in the score as "Clarinet in Bb", "Trumpet in Bb 1" and "Trumpet in Bb 2". When I started the extracting process, the "b" had changed to "?" on the list of instruments and, as I say, when I tried to save the parts to a folder, those three didn't make it.

When I tried to save just the three of them, I got a message saying that they couldn't be saved because they might be "read only". . . I could get the individual part to show. I could edit it but I could save the edits.

Is the fact that working on my IBM ThinkPad at home where it is NOT connected to the internet have anything to do with this problem???
