Re: Selecting Midi Outputs
Message:I am using a Thinkpad T21 with Windows 2000 and the Crystal Sound Fusion card and couldn't get a MIDI peep out of it, though all other audio was fine. However, after much irritation, it now works. Here's how. What I had to do was deinstall the Sound Fusion driver entirely (remove the device via My Computer|Properties|Hardware) and update it with the new build of the driver, available at http://www-3.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4JRMNB&selectarea=SUPPORT&tempselected=5. No idea if this is Thinkpad-specific, but it worked! I now have Midi playback. Of course the Cakewalk app will initially tell you there is no MIDI playback device selected, but your driver should now appear there and all you need to do is select it. Voila!
