Do you have a MIDI Interface installed? What is it? Did you install it BEFORE you installed Sonar?

Cakewalk will not recognize both cards at the same time. With your system you are wasting a lot of power. Upgrade to S4.

What I Would Like To See

1- A shortcut (like F7 or F5) that detects plugin latency and adjusts tracks. Pro Tools has this and I think Nuendo does too. 2- It has been mentioned before, buit a Beat Detective type feature would be cool. 3- An 'export to iTunes' feature that would create finished files for an iPod. 4- A CD Arch...

The main differences are that the full version gives you a few additonal controls and more presets.

This may or may not be a good thing depending at how good you are at programming verbs. The full version also supports surround.

Best solution would be to export the aduio to two tracks, launch sonar, import it and do your tips and tails. I use Sound Forge to do this but Cakewalk should work fine. File/Import your song. Go to the end and apply a fade (or cut the end) at the end and cut off any of the dead space before the tra...

If you want 16-32 tracks audio you need to go woth Sonar. It will do everything else you mention.

What kind of computer are you using? S4 needs quite a bit of power.

You need to enable full duplexing mode on your soundcard then be carefull of what prot you are monitoring on. Let's say you have USB Audio A-L USB Audio A-R USB Audio A-Stereo for choices of iput/output ports Choose USB Audio A-L for an input and USB Audio-R for output. Sounds like you are recording...

There are a couple different ways to do it. I would do it like this: 1- record all of your drums onto one midi track 2- run a cal script to split each midi not to a different track (I belive this is included. I have one I wrote years ago if you need one as well) 3- Label each track (Kick, Snare, etc...

They are both capable of producing (no pun intended) great tracks and are very similar. The Producer Edition has more bells and whistles which you may or may not need. The main difference is that Producer has the following: 1- Surround capabilities 2- EQ integrated into every track 3- Full version o...

Also, it sounds like you may have a dodgy plug if that's what is causing things to crash. Are you using any craked plugs? Rescan your plugs folder and try reinstalling the plugs.

Does it always crash with the same plug?

Just a few ideas. Andy is spot on about setting your machine up for audio.

Insert your Pro Audio disc and it works fine. I have no prob with this and think it's a licencing thing not a Cakewalk thing.

SoundForge does the same thing now.
