Sonar 2.2 and Edirol Super Quartet ("ESQ")
I've been to the "official" Cakewalk forum, and no one there could help me so I'll try here. After loading ESQ (it's a DXi) and assigning the instruments to their respective channels, I set the various pan, volume, etc. parameters, press Play and everything reverts back to their default settings, so...

Sonar vs. Home Studio
I inherited a machine with Sonar 2.2 which I've been using with some difficulty, but still able to complete a finished song. A friend told me about Home Studio XL which he said is better suited for the home user, as Sonar is really for the pros. I welcome any comments.

Thanks for both replies, and also for letting me know it's not just me. Is it possible to take the audio trax (they are recorde as .wav files, no?) into a 3rd party application (e.g. Adobe Audition, formerly Cool Edit Pro), and not mess up the Sonar project? Or are there plug-ins I don't know about ...

Editing wav files
Still using Sonar 2.2xl. Is it just me or are the audio effects hard to apply? Are there forums/sites to visit that offer help/suggestions in applying the settings for various effects (delay, eq, etc.)? Is the preview function hard coded to <5 seconds, or can it be increased? Or am i better off gett...

Seession drummer - SONAR 2.2
Is there a clearly and simply written (like for a 10 year-old) (and no offense to any 10 year-olds out there) tutorial/how to for Session drummer? I find the SONAR online help and even the POWER! books assuming I know more than I do.
Thanx!

Entering triplets in the staff view
The staff view is great for us who are not keyboard players, but SONAR apparently only allows triplets to be entered as 3 notes at a time. Yet sometimes the sheet music will depict tied eigth notes as a "triplet quarter note + an eigth note". How can this be entered into the staff view? this post al...

I used the "track-at-a-time" method. My Tascam porta-studio has an rca out for each of the 4 trax, and i sent them, one at a time, thru my M-Audio 2496 USB to separate audio trax in Sonar. I added a 4 beat count-in to EACH of the tascam trax. It still took a bit of tweaking in Sonar to match them up...

transferring old 4 track audio from tape to sonar
I have several old 4 track projects recorded on a Tascam 4 track cassette deck. What's the best way to transfer these to Sonar (V2.2) for digital editing purposes? If I transfer them one track at a time, will they be easy to sync up in Sonar. Any suggestions are welcome.

Edirol VSC playback is distorted
System is P4 2.8, 1gb RAM, m-audio audiophile 2496 usb. Sonar 2.2.
I've fgured out how to send my midi trax to the VSC, but playback has an underlying "tick-tick-tick" sound on all channels, all voices. Any suggestions are appreciated.
