Thanks.
The manual is on the disc, I take it. It sure wasn't in the box.

This is inetersting
From the Aardvark site: "To achieve Low Latency performance, Aardvark uses custom A|WDM technology. To use A|WDM, you must instruct SONAR to use MME drivers, instead of WDM. A|WDM circumvents many of WDM’s limitations, providing lower latency and increased stability. " http://www.aardvarkaudio.com/a...

Is there any reason why Home Studio does not recognize or map (if thst's the correct term) my aardvark soundcard when "use default" is selected? If I select ASIO it brings up the Aardvark input selections, but they are labelled differently than when I used to use Pro Audio 9 and when I use MME in Ho...

ASIO and MME questions
I recently installed Home Studio 2004 XL. I have an M-Audio MobilePre and an Aardvark 2496 which I use for sources and a Creative Soundblaster which serves no purpose but to generate clicks for me. Anyway, when I installed the software it recognized and mapped the M-Audio and the Soundblaster. Howev...

Need basic MIDI/soft synth help/tutorial
In my attempts to use a MIDI track routed to a soft synth in order to set up a template with a click track, I have realized I need a better foundation in the world MIDI, softsysnths, and how Cakewalk uses these resources. If anyene knows of a good online tutorial or previous thread to get me started...

good tips
Thanks for the very useful help, guys. I'm unsing ProAudio 9, it came with the Aardvark. I'll give the DXi a shot. I don't use any MIDI at this point, but maybe after working with the piano roll and DXi, I'll find some good uses for it. Basically, I'm using the software with my bands as a writing, r...

DXi
My MIDI ignorance may be showing, but is a DXi just a plug in that acts as a source for MIDI sounds?
If so, I think I get it and do you have any recommendations of a good DXi to use for this function?

thanks
Since I initially posted, I found some threads on other boards that helped me undrestand how the metronome is generated and that it is a big frustration for many cakewalk users. Thanks for the suggestion, but I wanted to use it as I do overdubs and didn't want to route all my tracks through the soun...

Can not hear metronome in monitor
Newbie here. I'm using Cakewalk with an Aardvark Direct Pro 24/96 soundcard and break out box. I also have a SoundBlaster soundcard installed. Basically I port everything through my DirectPro for monitoring. However, I can not get the metronome to the direct pro. I can hear it through the soundblast...
