further to Vinnie's post. Another pretty sweet effect is layering a whisper over your initial vocal track. For example, sing your verse. Then record a second track, this time raise the input level of your microphone and whisper the entire verse. Then simply, reduce the whisper volume until you can o...

I was just merely suggesting that P2P is out there if they wanted to use it. If Adobe (or anyone else) d...

Hi there I can only comment on my own experiences, but if you want a multi-track recorder which has all the effects of a recording studio (i mean tonnes of effects - compression, delays, chorus, reverb, distortions - everything!!!!) i believe the best product out there is Cool Edit Pro. I think Cool...

Hi Chris Yeah, cool edit isn't cheap but it is well worth the money/download wait  . I think you can get a demo copy from their website but you are limited to only a few options. Probably best to go with P2P download but be carefull of viruses. I think their is a download out their which has t...

hi Leanne Obviously first step is to make sure you haven't muted the midi volume in the Master Volume controls in the control panel. Make sure SW Synth volume is turned up. The other main thing to check is go into control panel and go to Sounds and Audio devices (if you are looking in Classic View)....

Hi Leanne

please provide some detail of your entire setup. eg, are you using an external midi module or sound card to produce the midi? Do you have any external midi devices like a midi keyboard connected. What operating system are you using (windows XP etc etc).

Thanks / Jason

hi there

Further to Andy's email, also make sure your send channel on your new keyboard is the same as the receive channel in Cakewalk (usually channel 1).

Good Luck.

Hi Andy Thanks for your detailed reply. Maybe it would help if i explain my setup. I use a dummy keyboard which has only 1 midi port on it (i am not sure if it is in or out??). On my sound card i have midi in, out and through. On my 2020 i also have in out and through and a USB connection. Basically...

it didn't work

Hi Andy and anyone else reading in Well i tried what you suggested but it didn't work. Actually, when i plugged my dummy keyboard into the midi through slot on the 2020 it wouldn't power-on. It only lets me put it into the Midi-In slot on either the 2020 or my pc. Anyway, my next thought was to plug...
