Contact Cakewalk with your name and address they will provide you with a key providing you have a valid registration on file (I got a Pro Audio 7 key this way recently so I think you should be ok).

Please tell us your system configuration (HD size, proc speed, ram, etc...)

What are you tring to record? Also, check the manual and see if it can answer your question.

Best of luck!

Funny you should mention the problem with the display colors. I remeber seeing Sonar when it was first introduced and was so turned off by the color scheme that I waited to upgrade. A friend of mine upgraded before me and had so many bugs and problems I ran PA9 until S3 was introduced. There are man...

Sounds like a clock era. Is your sync setting configured for MIDI or Trigger and Flywheel? Should be trigger btw. Is your clock set for audio or midi?

PA9 will run fine under xp. I was a PA9 guy until Sonar 3. At work we just finished the CSi training cd for Sonar 4 and it looks great!

Excellent Sonar 4 Master Series Training CD-Rom Availible

As many of you know, I have been a Cakewalk user for many years. I recently took a job working with Tompson Course Technology (publishers of the Sonar POWER and IGNITE series of books). Today I am working on the Sonar 4 Master Series CD-Rom. I have to tell you that it is packed with information. It ...

You will end up buying the extra plugs anyway. When I bought my first card, Mackie was the distributer and there was only one avail. The LA-2A is a must have, as are several of the other plugs.

Go all they way, otherwise once you get the card and are blown away you will have to shell out more money.

Since phase issues arise from mic placement issues, I don't really see how using eq will bring back things that never were there. Have you tried fliping the phase of one of the stereo channels (left or right)? This may add in what you are looking for. Are you dealing with one stereo track or several...

The MOTU stuff works great. I use a 2408mkii and also have an 828 that I use with my laptop.

If you don't want to go the MOTU route, RME is really good stuff.

They do use some cpu power, but there is a 1Ghz chip on a dsp card that runs the plugs. I have the Waves Platinum bundle. It cost $3200.00 from Sweetwater. I still use the C4 multiband comp and the L1, the rest I haven't touched in months. The UA effects will color your sound. They are the best comp...

I used Cubase a long time ago, but gave it up for PA. At the time, the best program was Opcode's StudioVision, but that only ran on mac. I don't think any one of the following: Sonar PT DP Nuendo Cubase etc... Are any better than the others, they all have their stengths and weaknesses. Find what you...

Well, I never said to mute the line or mic inputs. Here is why your tracks are bleading: You are recording on the same track you are monitoring on Look at this example: Let's say you are using a Soundblaster card. The brand doesn't really matter, as the method is the same for any card. 1- Record you...
