It will be the soundcard or it's drivers. You don't say what soundcard it is or what drivers you are using but if it is an onboard sound chip or a creative card then you are going to get a lot of dropouts (bad audio) when trying to use low latency or to improve the audio you will have to work with h...

The first would be to use a sustain pedal at the time of imput if you are using a midi controller keyboard. Second...

When you start a new project (file menu > new) you are shown a dialogue box to allow you to name the project, choose a template to work from and there should also be an option to save all audio in the file per project folder. If you just open a midi file without starting a new project then any chang...

There are a lot of good books that can walk you through these type of programs. Type Cakewalk into Amazon and you will be suprised at whats available. A lot cheaper way to learn than paying somebody. First question: On the toolbar near the temp box there should be some buttons, these slow down and s...

First thing to do is make sure you have the latest update installed, 5.01 is available over at the Cakewalk site. I would recommend increasing the latency setting slightly to see if that cures the problem. When the PC is under stress it channels it's resources to audio and then video afterwards. Oth...

The MPU-401 will be the game port on your PC which is also enabled for midi. Midi is not sound it is just data that triggers sounds in another device. You have been triggering the sounds on your Keyboard with it. You will need to use a softsynth the generate sounds. You don't say what version of Son...

Midi Drums should only be on Channel 10, the other 15 channels you see on the TTS-1 are for the other instruments, that's what the other banks and patches are for. You will notice that all the different drum sounds play on the same channel but you can seperate them on to different tracks ie kick on ...

In that case you will have to use a VST or DXi as they are known in Sonar. The easiest way is to go to the Insert Menu > SoftSynth and select the TTS-1 instrument. In the dialogue box that opens make sure the first two boxes are checked this gives you another midi track and an audio track with all t...
