Can't really remember that far back but you will have to make sure your sync option is set to midi. In later versions there are buttons on the Sync Toolbar (if it's not visible then check the tick box for it in View > Toolbars menu. That should set Cakewalk to master and your Korg needs to be set to...

Drum maps are just a way of associating drum sounds to notes to keys. They don't have any sounds. The idea is if you have a Roland sound module for example and you are using the Roland GS drum patches on it then they might not correspond to normal midi notes ie an acoustic snare in GM might equate t...

First thing to do is check your soundcard is operating properly. If you are using WDM drivers then run the Wave profiler in the Options > Audio menu and leave it at the default setting. Next make sure the Sync toolbar is displayed, if not enable it though View > toolbars menu. Always use the audio s...

The sequencer on the keyboard will probably not sync up with Cakewalk. Easiest thing to do is open a project and insert 16 midi tracks on channels 1-16. Arm them all , press record and play a tune on the keyboard. When you press stop you will see which channels the midi has been recorded on. As for ...

Try this list of tweaks http://www.musicxp.net/tuning_tips.php.
Most people I know swear by them and they come recommended in a lot of music publications/magazines now.
It will be intresting to see if cakewalk ever come up with anything on this problem.

Just a thought but you have tried all the spyware removal, antivirus tools etc. Just in case it is a spurious program running in the background. One of the worst things in a DAW is Anti virus software running while you are processing audio, it's a right processor hog. Although my DAW machine is netw...

The only things I can suggest are make sure you are up to version 4.04. and if you have XP service pack 2 installed install the hotfix available from cakewalk here this had something to do with resource leakage which might be the case here. I would also run the clean audio tool you might have a lit ...

The main problem witht he soundbaster is the fixed 48,000mhz sample rate. Most Soundfonts are created from 41,000mhz samples and then have resampled by the card to 48,000. I think only the banks created by creative were sampled at 48,000, thats one of the reason they sounded do good for so long. If ...

HI CZ, By program change do you mean a bank or patch change? This tells for instrument to play a different sound or effect during the play back of the track. If so then read on, if not then I really don't know :( First download the Instrument definition file for the Vamp from here and import it into...
