Why don't you load all the VST's you require each one on it's own audio track. Make sure each VST's midi track has it's output set to it's VST but it's input needs to be set to the same channel for all the tracks. This way when you hit a key on the keyboard it will communicate with all the synths at...

It sounds to me like some sort of spurious levels problem on the guitars and keyboards tracks. I would bounce those tracks to audio again and see if there is any visible difference in the waveforms. If everything looks alright then bounce everything down to one stereo track within cakewalk, check it...

If all the files are the same length and at the right bit depth and sample reate etc, make sure all effects are applied then the easiest way is just to copy them from you Audio folder in your project file in Cakewalk Projects. Make sure you copy and not move or you will lose your files to work on yo...

You don't say what soundcard you are using or what OS you are using. If you are using the onboard soundchip then you probably won't have much luck sorting this problem because there will be no decent drivers for it. The other problem is the OS. If you are using the MS/GS wavetable synth in XP for yo...

If you are not using a midi controller/keyboard then you have no midi inputs. Connecting a guitar through the mic socket will give you sound but it won't be very good quality. You need some sort of Preamp, cheapest option would be to go for a small mixer like the behringer ones. You would be able to...

Cakewalk 8.0 was probably designed for Win 95. Does Win 2000 have a compatibilty mode like XP, if it does then try that. It's probably something to do with it being a 16 bit application running on a 32 bit OS and file system. You say you don't want to upgrade but even Cakewalk Music Creator which is...

Ensure each track starts at the same point. Select a track and export as a PCM Wav file, naming the track with easy to use names and numbers. Do this for each individual track in Sonar, saving them all in the same folder. Type up any notes or instructions you want to include and save it as a text fi...

You can rewire anything to anything these days. I have never heard of rewiring Live 4 into Sonar, I assume you would want to do this to use the Abletons synths and effects? If this is the case I would have a search round for some comparable free instruments on the net because they can be a lot bette...

I always remember a bit of a bug with the bounce feature in S2 & 3. One of the things to look out for is not to have any track selected, just solo the midi tracks and the tracks with you synth on then it bounces down first time. I never could undersatnd why but I got into the habit of clicking in th...
