Sounds like you have a note sticking or continuous controller info still being sent after you have pressed the stop button. This can cause Sonar to hang. Try Options Menu > Project Options > Midi out and make sure the "Zero controllers when play stops" box. If that does not cure the problem then it ...

This is probably a question well beyond me but I think it might be something to do with DC offset. Rather than muddling through an explanation I have copied this from the Sonar 5 help files. I hope it can be applied in Sonar 2. To Remove DC Offset From Existing Audio Select the audio data and choose...

There should be no problem doing that as long as you start each audio track at the same point ie 1:00:01. If there is a slight discrepancy then you can nudge then around a bit.

'Fraid not. You can open version 4 files in version 5 but not the other way round and once you save it in 5 it can only be opened in 5.

It's always been like that and actually applies to most software. Native Instruments are notorious for it.

You have to host it some where first and then put a link to it.

You could use something like Yousendit but the link expires after 7 days.

I think groove clips are what you are referring to but I don't understand what you mean by "construct the rest for you". Could you explain a little further?

Cakewalk should pick it up, what Cake prog are you actually running? How are you transferring the song onto the PC from the AW16G? If it is as PCM wave files of individual tracks then you do need a sequencer like Sonar or Home Studio, whatever fits your price bracket. If you are transferring a stere...

You can plug your soundcard into absolutely anything with a line in. A reasonable quality stereo will always be better than computer speaker systems although as you progress through the audio world you will want something that gives you a more accurate reflection of what your music actually sounds l...

Unless you are prepared to pay to unlock it or already own CWPA9 then you have only one option and that is to use another one. One of the best free ones available is LAME. You have got to have some sort of audio interface. Does the motherboard have a sound chip on it, if it does then use that.

Creative products are the evil scurge of the audio world, your better off without it. A decent 24/96 card from MAudio or EMU will only cost about £60.

The DR-008 included with Sonar was only ever the light version. If you wanted to carry it on into other versions then you had to buy the proper version. Now Cyclone is the one to use. It not only plays one shots but you can use it to trigger loops. Personaly I prefer BFD or my drum machine but if I ...

If you use the keyboard as the play back device then all you will get is the half a dozen voices and the variations that are on the piano. If you use you computer as the play back device then you can load up the Edirol VSC DXi (see manual or help file for tutorial) and then you can select any of the...

All seems a bit confusing and I don't know what you are trying to actually achieve. If you are trying to record audio from the roland keyboard then I think I would go about it a bit differently. First forget about all the fancy sync options. Leave Sonar set to audio sync. Forget about dithering set ...
