By tempo do you you mean the metronome is being recorded? I don't know Music Creator but if it's the same as Sonar go to the options menu > project > metronome and uncheck the box to turn it off. If you want to hear a metronome but not record it you will have to use the PC speaker instead of a midi ...

Most on board soundcards have some sort of midi capabilities even if it is just the Microsoft GM wavetable. The quickest way to check is right click a midi file and select properties > preview press play and if you hear sound then you have midi. Try reinstalling Cakewalk. If you do not hear sound, c...

Unfortunately when you save as a wrk file it just saves the settings and the paths to the audio which is saved on the original hard drive. You have to save as bun. files or bundles. This will bundle all the audio up in the one file. They are very large files for emailing though.

I don't have the DR008, I'm still back on Sonar 1.3XL. It could be something to do with the soundcard and latency when mixing DXis and midi or audio there are always timing issues. I would solo the drum midi file and the audio channel with the DR008 inserted and bounce it to audio. See if the timing...

I've had this problem before and found it to be just a glitch. I ended up saving what I had, shutting cakewalk down and starting it up again. This used to cure it. If it is due to a sluggish computer, make sure none of you tracks are running with effects on them, either remove the effects until you ...

If your sure that it isn't coming from within the computer, things like programs running in the background, screen savers, AV software or task schedulers then it might be something outside. Try looking for things that are plugged into the same ring main as the computer. Common ones that causes glith...

Re: Click Track

Thank you for this info. Can you tell me more about the "click track" (I don't have this currently)? All it is, is a count in at the beginning of the track. You know 1 2 3 4. Use a rim shot from the drum set or something that will give a sharp peak in the visual waveform. Do this on each track and ...

You don't give any details of what software you are using or what eqpt you have. 1st you must have a full duplex soundcard, most modern ones are but some older ones are only half duplex. In your software audio setup you will also need to enable the drivers to allow you to directly monitor. Make sure...

The spike in your cpu usage is probably being caused by some background task running in windows. Make sure you turn them all off especially screen savers, task schedulers and anti virus.

Always try to use 24 bit in your projects, you get a lot more head room when working on your audio mixes. Keep it at 24 bit all the way through the project until the CD burning stage when you have to dither down to 16 bit.

You remove the DC offset by using a High Pass Filter. Use the cakewalk parametric EQ and choose the high pass filter preset.

Warning: When doing this it can cause clicking during the A/D conversion and totally ruin you mix, make sure you back up first.
