MidiOX is probably your best bet for that type of thing, make sure you read the instructions though, it can be a bit confusing. Just a quick thought. Does you computer have an onboard audio chip or soundcard? If it does, have you tried disabling it in the bios just to make sure it is not conflicting...

I know on my system my Edirol PCR1 is problematic without the onboard soundcard being disabled. In the end I disabled it in the BIOs and uninstalled the drivers, since then I have had no problems. It is a bit of a bummer because I liked to use the on board chips 5.1 surround facility for DVDs now I ...

This could be due to one of two things. First in Music Creator you must make sure that you are set up to directly monitor the track you are recording on. To do this you must make sure that the track echo is enable. If you look at this picture of the console view, you must click the button that looks...

Now I see the problem, PA9 doesn't support ASIO drivers so that rules that out as being of any use to you.(never thought to ask what you where using). No wonder you were finding what I said a bit confusing :D Well at least you got your WDM drivers working. PA9 is now so old it is even surpassed by C...

You run the installation of ASIO4All, which I take it you have done. Start Sonar and goto to Options > Audio > Advanced tab and select ASIO as you drivers from the small drop down box. Exit the Audio properties and restart Sonar. When restarted go pack in the Audio options and select the drivers tab...

Your Welcome :D

I would recommend the ASIO4ALL drivers though if you want lower latency. The good thing is that if they don't work for you then they are easily deleted because the just piggyback on your windows drivers but speed things up quite a lot.

Glad you got it sorted.

First thing to do is see whther the drivers are appearing in Sonar. Go to the options menu > Audio > Drivers Tab. If the drivers are listed there then make sure they are selected, go back to the general Tab and run the wav profilor. They should then appear in the playback and recording master boxes....

Try pressing the scroll lock key on your keyboard, it might have been pressed by accident.

I have been trying to recreate the problem you have been having but not with much success. I took a loop of 140 bpm, opened the clip properties and in the groove clip properties I unchecked the enable looping box and checked the stretch to project tempo box. The loop changed to 100bpm but the root n...

Can you let us know what actual cakewalk program and version number you are using. It will help in answering the question.

Thanks

You need to put your effect on a bus and send you different tracks to that bus where they are mixed and the effect applied to all of them. Lets say you are applying a reverb to several tracks. Start by creating a new bus. Right click on any track in the track view (not the wave data area) and from t...

The audio card doesn't need to be on the first IRQ just it's best in the first PCI slot but that is a hangover from Win 98 days when there were only a limited numbers of IRQs available.

As long as it's not sharing an IRQ it will be OK.

It might be worth checking in the Options > Audio > advanced that the box "play effects tails after stopping" isn't ticked. After all a VST is just a glorified effect. There isn't much to choose in general benefits between ASIO and WDM drivers with Sonar now. WDM always used to be the standard prefe...

DC Offset is the change in input voltage required to produce a zero output voltage when no signal is applied to an amplifier. Basically you get DC offset when there is a mismatch between the impedences of different bits of equipment in your signal chain.. That was all I could come up with but I had ...
