Something that has been mentioned in the past with soundcards and heat is if they are too close to the graphics gard then the heat from the graphics card can affect them. It is always recommended to put then in the furthest slot away from the graphics card, usually at the bottom.

Not sure but it sounds like it could be something to do with your PC. If it is starting to work harder after an hour of recording it might be taking resources away from your soundcard, especially if you have onboard sound. Recording audio is quite a demanding process on the CPU and it could be overh...

I never had much success recording electro acoustic guitar by plugging in in. It never sounded right, the levels were all over the place and it sounded very noisy, lots of fret and string noise. I found the best way was to play though my amp. At first I used the headphone out put into the line in an...

Always set your recording levels in the console view it's more accurate. Record you midi to audio at the maximum volume with clipping (going into the bright red area). You get more scope to reduce volume than you do to increase it. You can then adjust the levels of the audio track when setting up yo...

Brian, that is an amazing piece of work. The mood and emotions it inspires in me is unbelievable. You have got to take this one further mate, maybe another 10 minutes main part and then a 5 minute outro. That would make it a classic prog rock piece :D

Great work.

No problems Andrew. We are all in the music making game together and I know what it's like when you are stuck. Asking questions is the best way to learn and I still ask many of them myself.

What do you want real guitars or computer based ones.? If you want real ones plug your guitar in to a pre amp (your alesis might have an external audio in that could handle it) and plug in into the line in socket on the sound card. Open the windows mixer panel for your soundcard and make sure you ha...

Hi Andrew, To record to Sonar as audio from your drum machine simply connect the audio out's of the module to the line in on the soundcard. Select an audio track, arm it and set the drum pattern playing as you press record in Sonar. To record the drums as midi you have to connect the midi out of you...

Hi Gary,

Click on the link to this post and print it out. It applies to all versions of cakewalk in general although things might be named different. It should put you right though.

Brian is there any reason you have left it just for playing and not downloadable on the music2v site. I'm on a lousy dial up in the UK and streaming is near impossible.

Bit of a strange one that. The only thing I could suggest is to use the print preview and there should be a configure button on the toolbar. Try adjusting the settinge there and see if it makes a difference.

If the songs are midi then I would have though if you set the metronome, in you project options, to use a midi note then it would change at the same time as the rest of the file.

Voyetra used to do a piece of software called Teach Me Piano. It was an interactive piano tutor program and I think it had that feature. You could check out the Voyetra web site.
