making a midi in cakewalk

Postby angie » Thu Mar 11, 2010 6:14 pm

Can I play my bass live and then convert to a midi or do I have to play the bass on my Midi keyboard in order to save the track as a midi file. I am in the process of making some midi's using cakewalk. I am recording my drum tracks with my boss drum machine and it has midi in and midi out, I then want to put bass in this midi, and I would rather play the bass on the bass guitar then on my midi keyboard because I find it alot easier but if I did that I was thinking that it would be recorded as audio and not midi. Can anyone help with this.???? I am using a Yamaha PSR 2100 Keyboard as my sound card and my Boss drum machine for the drum beats.
