recording playing

i have no problem when playing midis but when recording it seems that it lacks memory and everything stops.
I am using all the buffer that I can.
This problem came out now that I am using a new PC with Windows XP. Before I used a Pc with Millenium edition.
I don´t know if this problem is related to it.
