Triangle sound doesn't decay AWE64

Postby SunKing2 » Mon Nov 15, 2004 8:10 pm

Hiya, I just joined the forum and apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place.

I have an AWE64 sound card, and am entering notes into cakewalk but the open triangle seems to sustain for the duration of the note. Is this normal? Does it even make sense to have a "whole note" for a triangle?

Two questions:
1. If I want to make it decay, (I'm only using the midi file for myself) do I have to set a controller for each time I play the note?
2. Is this a problem with the sound card? It seems to me that I have another piece of software the triangle plays like a triangle when I hit the simulated keyboard, but in cakewalk if I make it a quarter note it doesn't really decay, it just plays at the same , um frequency or um level until the note finishes. Suggestions on how to enter a more realistic sound into cakewalk? :?
