using a cheap drum set with cakewalk

Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I just got cakewalk and have absolutely no idea how to use it. We want to make and mix electronic music. I have basically three issues:
1. We have a really cheap digital drum set (1come brand name) and I was trying to figure out if it is possible to use it on cakewalk. I wouldn't even know how to go about trying to make it work.
2. We have an older casio keyboard...I bought a MIDI to USB cable to hook it up. Apparently we need certain drivers? I went to casio.com, but there was only one driver for one keyboard model (not ours) available for download. Would there be anything we can do to remedy this problem?
3. Can you use MP3s in cakewalk?

Forgive me, but I know nothing about MIDI stuff. I can run publishing programs and that's about it insofar as computers are concerned. But I really want to make this work...
thanks,
amy

Haven't got a clue about the drums but if it has midi capabilities it should work.

The keyboards will probably work better with midi leads connected to the midi/gameport of the soundcard. They will not need drivers to work then.

MP3 will normally be converted to Wav format before any editing can be done. Most Cakewalk products will do this unless it is very old.

Have a read through the following link. It will give you lots of info you are after. http://www.cakewalk.com/tips/desktop.asp
