Audio/midi latency - interface recommendations?

Postby gcodling » Mon May 09, 2005 6:45 pm

I am using HomeStudio 2000 on a P4 1.6GHz. I have a crappy sound card so I just enter piano, drums, bass with midi and then use the soundfonts built in to make it sound decent. I have a usb soundcanvas module that I plug a mic in. When I add vocals it's off from the midi tracks on playback. I've played with the latency slider and it doesn't help. Any ideas? Also, can you recommend a good soundcard that I could plug a mic into or do I need some other interface, thanks.
