Metronome delay (using PC´s Headphone)

Iam using Cakewalk Pro 9 to train my hability to play drum.
For this reason I configured the metronome to the MIDI port of my PC (microsoft GS wavetable SW Synth port), this allow me to listen the metronome from the PC`s headphone and play the drum.
The problem is that there is a delay between the metronome from the headphones and the music playing on the sequencer.
Any ideas how to solve this problem?
