Audio track sounds like it has Vibrato on it

I am a new user. Last night I tried recording a guitar audio track, and when I played it back, there was heavy/fast vibrato in it. I'm using Sonar Home Studio 4 (non-XL), my interface is an Edirol UA-20 Midi interface with the microphone plugged into the 1/4" jack and I'm using a Turtle Beach Riviera sound card.
I can hear the vibrato even when I'm not recording and have the echo/monitor function enabled.
Any ideas?
