metrenome settings

I'm using Cakewalk Express with a Kurzweil PC2-X.

In a previous post, I got help with my metronome settings:

First the metronome. Enter the options menu > project > metronome page here you can set you metronome settings. Make sure it is set to use MIDI note. Choose Port 1, Duration 6, Channel 10, this will send the info to the percussion track on your keyboard. For a simple click type track set the first beat to F#3 velocity 127 and the other beats to F#3 velocity 100. Click OK to exit. That should be the metronome set up.

I think these are pretty much what Cakewalk defaults to, at least this is what my settings are and I don't think I mucked with anything.

Anyway, with these settings the metronome plays an F# on my keyboard, not a percussion sound. Any ideas?

Hi Drew,

The Kurzweil PC2-X transmits midi on 4 channels and recieves on all 16. Some instruments might recieve percussion on channel 16 so it might be worth changing the channel in the metronome settings. You should have a midi implementation chart in your keyboard manual which will tell you what channel transmits and recieves what type of data.

Try all the channels just to be on the safe side :D
