Recording with Compression?

Postby Vertigo50 » Fri Sep 26, 2003 9:09 pm

Is it possible to record with an effect such as compression in real-time, so that the effect is actually applied to the recorded data?

I know that you can "monitor" with an effect while recording, but I'm wanting to record vocals with compression, so that I can make the signal a little hotter, without clipping the audio.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes its possible, I do it all the time, with an external compressor.
However I don't think you can do it with a plugin.
