how i do it is i run everything at a flat response in any track ...
then i will adjust an EQ to what i need via bass ..treble or whatever in a mix(per channel ) after recording, weather it be a cakewalk plugin or a timework add on, and adjust per channel what i want to add then remix again at the master... anyone have any better ways let me know as well
