Real-time plug-in monitoring during recording...

Postby Santoku » Tue Jul 17, 2007 3:09 pm

I am currently trying to use Guitar Tracks Pro 3 & an M-Audio Firewire Solo to do some home recording of guitar work. I have the full version of Amplitube 2 hooked into GTP3 as a VST plug-in. I would like to set up the Amplitube amp/cab/effects for a track PRIOR to recording, and have this tone real-time while recording the track. Is this possible ? Or can Amplitube and other plug-ins only be added as a post-edit for the track ?

I have experiemented with Pro Tools, and I know that software allows you to arm the track with your plug-in and play real-time to get the vibe from your tone setup in the plug-in. Any insight or advise appreciated. Cheers !
