Laptop recording

Postby Hardtohandle » Tue May 06, 2008 12:29 am

Hi,

I want to add audio tracks to existing midi files using Cakewalk on my laptop. I was advised that I needed to buy an audio interface as most laptops only have a "mic" input and not a "line in". I bought a Numark DJ io which connects to my laptop via a USB cable.

Though Cakewalk is recognising the audio interface as a port, I am still unable to record. I have gone through the usual process of creating an audio track in Cakewalk, checked the recording and playback levels on the laptop.

The new audio track records the existing midi but not the audio signal.

Can anyone please assist?

Thanks,
Kester.
