I am looking at either Cakewalk Home Studio or Cakewalk Home Studio XL

I play the guitar, mandolin, piano, and ukelele. I want to be able to record these and then put them together to make a song. Can I do this and then create say a drum track to go along with it?

I want to get a Lexicon Alpha Preamp to record into the software on my new HP laptop at college. Will this work?

With this can I play my acoustic guitar and make it sound like an electric or avoustic bass? Or play my electric and make it sound like a bass?

Thanks so much! Sorry for all the questions.
