Reading lyrics in Cakewalk

Wondering if somebody can help me with this ?
I am using Cakewalk 9.03.
I have figured out that a .kar file can be renamed to a .mid.
With this file there is a lyric track which can be viewed in the event list.
What I wanna know is, how to import/convert those lyrics into the View-Lyrics so that I can key bind a .txt file as in Karaoke.
All this to read the lyrics while the song is playing.
Or is there some other way to go about doing this
