Have a santa cruz turtle beach soundcard. I can hear my guitar thru my speakers ok. My record level is about 3/4. When I press R to record on a new track,, the sound gets distorted, and records that way too. My mic acts the same way. Anyone know what the cause may be

Assuming your levels are ok it could be a sync issue. is it distorted when you are monitoring durring the recording or when you play it back?

it gets distorted when the audio is running and the armed button is on and I'm monitoring the input level prior to recording. If I'm not monitoring the signal on the meter, it's not distorted.
