Thanks for such quick help... do I want a large or a small buffer size - I can have it at 1 or 249, (I was trying to get rid of lag) My brother says that buffer size has something to do with how big something is before you store it... Anyway please write back... thanks

The size that your buffer should be is related to your system configuration and performance.

My buffer size is 64 and it works great. You should be able to set your buffer in between the numbers you specify. 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512 are good options - try these numbers and see what happens!

On the project/audio/advanced tab - try unticking the enable read and enable write caching boxes as well. This will help performance a bit.
