Effects dropout?

Postby rvtvav » Sun Feb 15, 2004 4:39 pm

I'm using Home Studio 2004 on a fairly new PC with plenty of processing and memory (P4 2.53ghz/512mb RAM).

I don't know if "dropout" is the right term, but when I play back multiple audio tracks using only a reverb effect (usually I use it on all tracks, often up to 7 or 8 of them) I get this weird thing where the effect on one of the tracks will disappear momentarily when playing back. The effect is gone and back in a matter of seconds. If I got back and replay the section where this occurs, usually it doesn't happen a second time in the same spot. It's as if the effects has dropped out. The same problem exists if I mix down/export to a wav file, that is the effects dropout can be heard.

There seems to be no pattern to where or when this will occur. It happens then I can't get it to occur in the same spot.

Any ideas?
