Midi to Audio

I used my mouse to input a 4 and a half minute song I wrote into Cakewalk Music Creator 2003. Now that I have the sheet music copyrighted, I wanted to burn the song onto a CD to send to a song pusher. I tried to create an audio track, but when I play the MIDI tracks I created with my mouse and hit the record button on the audio track, all I get is static when I play my audio track, and those audio lines you see on the sample songs audio tracks, don't show up on my audio track - it's blank. I'm arming the audio track and I'm hitting the record button at the top. Suggestions? This technical stuff is raining on my parade!
