Drum Sounds

My brother in Australia uses the Yamaha QY700 to programme his music, and he recently sent me copies of a few of his backing tracks which he converted to SMF1 so that I could use them here in the UK. I am using Cakewalk 9 and all seems OK except for the DRUM SOUNDS. These sound like the base piano notes that he used when programming.
Maybe I don't know enough about Cakewalk, but could anyone tell me how to change these Drum Sounds so they sound like the Standard Kit and Classic Kit that he used to create the tracks, or even just to make them sound like drums??
Please help before it drives me scatty!!
