Lost Files

I use Music Creator 2. I accidentally deleted some audio files. I created an audio file test and deleted it and got a window that prompted me to be sure that I wanted to send them to the Recycle Bin but, as I discovered with my test file, deleted audio files are not put into the Recycle Bin. I used some software to recover them. It recovered all of them and I returned them to the audio file folder. The trouble is that now the associated Cakewalk projects do not recognize them. There must be a naming or formatting difference that I am not aware of. Anybody else had this experience and how did you resolve it? Thanks.
