Installing software - is Command Center required?

Hi

I was considering upgrading Dimension Pro/Z3ta synths to the updated versions.

I hear that all new Cakewalk software now has to use an application called 'Command Center' in order to be activated and that simply installing and putting in a serial code can no longer be done - is this correct?

I hope users have a choice over this as I generally don't use any software beyond serial/key file protection.
