midi/drums/etc...

why do i not here any of the midi insturments output when I play the sample files or try to use the drums etc.? I realize I have no MIDI input, but what do I have to do to be able to use the synth drums etc in Sonar?

Your midi audio port might not be assigned. Check to see that you have a midi output assigned. If you do, you might check one more thing.
Go to Options|Audio|Advanced and see if the box labled "Always use MME..." is checked. If not, put a check mark in the box and restart Sonar. That might be the reason you do not hear midi audio. That was my problem.

Almost gave up with cakewalk but after finding your tip regarding midi output i now get sound!
