First beat of count in missing

Hi there. Hope someone can help.
I`ve converted some midi files to wav. Burnt them onto a cd so I can use them as backing tracks for a duo.My problem is the first beat of the count in on all tracks is missing, or hardly audible.
I have used the slide option in cakewalk to start each song on bar 2 and even bar 3 with the same result.
I can put up with it but playing live I have to count in from beat 2 which if I`m not onto it, I may miss the intro.
