Hi All:

I'm new to the forum.

I've got a problem I hope you can help me with. Here's the deal.

I'm using a recently-purchased Sonar Home Studio 4 (sale price at Guitar Center) that I use with a Roland XV-88. I installed the Roland XV instrument definition file as well as the SRX-02 expansion board instrument definition files. I can access all of the individual patches in HS4.

Here's the problem: Regardless of the patch I initially assign in HS4, my sequences (only piano) always default to General MIDI on the XV-88 as soon as I hit "play." However, once the sequence begins to play, I can change the patch on the fly using HS4, and the XV-88 responds correctly.

My question is, How can I get the XV-88 to respond to the patch assignment rather than automatically default to GM as soon as I hit the play button?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Regards,
Irwin
