I have a Roland RS-9 synth. I have a Roland MPU-IPC that is in an ISA slot in my PIII 667. When local control is turned off on the synth and Windows 98 is started the midi interface works fine...both In and Out.

As soon as I fire up Cakewalk Pro Audio 8 I lose midi input even though I have the MPU-401 driver selected in Midi devices. If I load a previously composed midi sequence the keyboard plays the passage and if I play along I get this messed up super latent response, but only if a track is playing.

Am I missing some other internal setting or is my ISA interface just not cutting it with cakewalk...I'm sure I've had the two working together at one time, although it may have been on a 486DX.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

May I ask what OS you are using? PA8 supported NT and 95/98SE if memory serves me correct. I has a similar issue in W2k and upgrading to PA9 solved the problem.
