quantize problems

When I record my MIDI tracks then quantize them, the notes look to be in the right spot. However, on playback, some notes are definately lagging. It's not a quantize problem, because I quantized a simple hi hat pattern in eigth notes, and say that they were in the right position. I'm at a loss here. My music sounds horrible now, & I know it's not me or the quantizing. Please help

what are you using for a midi interface? have you tried updating your drivers?

I'm using MOTU Fastlane MIDI interface. I recently installed XP on the PC & wiped it clean. Do you think I have to reconfigure some things? It worked fine on Win 98.

MOTU fastlane MIDI interface, Windows XP, Cakewalk PA9, Proteus 2000. It's only happening on 1 song & the song that screws up has a trak with arpeggiation on it. Could that effect be causing the lag? Thanks for helping. I'm almost ready to throw the PC out the window

try taking the arpeggiation out and see if the problem persists.
