How do you change events?

Hi guys,
I have a track in sonar that is full of several hundred midi control messages. All of these events are set to '7 - volume' I need to
change them to '4 - foot'. I could change each event individually but
that will take ages, so is there a way to select a load of events and
change all their values in one go? I can see that you can highlight multiple events but can't find a way of changing them all at once?
Any suggestions much appreciated.
