Exporting for data CD

Hello Everyone. New man here with limited knowledge. I have Sonar 3, Producer Edition. I have recorded some guitar work and I would like to send a data CD to another studio for embellishments. The studio needs to be able to read each individual track. Can someone tell me in fairly simple terms how I would do this? I also have Nero Burning ROM.

Thanks,
Richard

Ensure each track starts at the same point.

Select a track and export as a PCM Wav file, naming the track with easy to use names and numbers.

Do this for each individual track in Sonar, saving them all in the same folder.

Type up any notes or instructions you want to include and save it as a text file in the folder.

Open Nero and burn the folder to a CD or DVD as data.

Try to export the audio at the highest sample rate you have used. If you have recorded at 24/96 then save it as 24/96 don't go dithering it down to CD standard, compressing to MP3 or anything like that.

When the recieve the disc they can now just import each track into any sequencer and they should all sync up because made sure all the tracks started at the same measure.

Andy, thank you for your reply. It was very helpful. I probably should have posted this in the beginners section, but I didn't notice that section when I posted this.

Would you mind to go a little further and explain to me how to export or save one track at a time. I can't figure out how to do anything except save them all at once.

Thank you for your patience and help.

Richard

If all the files are the same length and at the right bit depth and sample reate etc, make sure all effects are applied then the easiest way is just to copy them from you Audio folder in your project file in Cakewalk Projects.

Make sure you copy and not move or you will lose your files to work on yourself.
