Intermittent Lockups with Sonar 2.0 XL

I'm using Sonar 2.0 XL - I know, I need to upgrade - I installed it on a new Core Duo XP machine with 2 GB RAM. The program runs flawlessly even with over 24 tracks of audio with effects on nearly all of them. The problem I'm having is when I'm doing something non-audio related, like adding markers or grouping tracks, the machine will freeze, and the only way to recover is to kill power to the PC. I re-seated the memory and it seemed to be OK for a few days, but as intermittent problems go, this one has returned. I lost 4 hours of work this afternoon.
It does not occur in any programs but Sonar, and when it happens, Sonar is the only program running.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
