playind different midi channels within a project

Postby biggie900 » Wed Oct 08, 2003 6:12 pm

here's my problem. i have an proteus 2000 rack. when i record a midi riff(ch1 horns) from the proteus into a project lets say midi track1(IN:midi 1) sonar records all the midi events in the riff. at this point i copy midi track1 let say 3xs. i go in each copied track and change the IN to ch2, ch3, etc. when i press play the copied tracks don't trigger the proteus sounds, i can only hear the sounds from the channel that the proteus in on. the sounds won't play simitaneuosly. help, is there something i have to do to sonar or the proteus?

Simultaneous Midi....

Hi, Biggie!
The problem is not Sonar or your midi setup. Most synths can't play different program sounds or patches more than one at a time so your best bet is to bounce the midi track down to audio and record a new sound from there! (Sounds easy, huh?)

Let me know how that works out.....!
