entering triplets in staff view

Any one know how to enter a triplet in the staff view for the notation where 2 tied eighth notes = a triplet of a quarter note and an eighth note? Sonar only seems to allow three notes together for a triplet. Thanx in advance.

Barry,
Sonar's notation is not all that good. Personally, I do all my notation by hand, that may be becasue I studied with Mark McGrain, the man who (literaly) wrote the book on music notation.

When I have to make an electronic score, I use Finale or Encore. Both are excellent notation programs and work faster (and more acurately) than Sonar.

Don't get me wrong, I love Sonar/Cakewalk, but they don't do notation all that well. Cakewalk used to make a program called Score Writer that was pretty good. Not sure if it's still availible.

Good Luck!
