While I have yet to try this in Sonar, it did work in CWPA9. However, although the pitch of the audio remained constant, the process left audio artifacts behind which were bad enough to aviod the process in the future -- especially when you're modifying multiple tracks which increases the overall noise floor
.
It may be possible that latency and buffer settings might overcome this, but I made my attempt when I was very new to it and have shied away from it since. Now I just re-do the takes at the new tempo rather than trying tempo conversions again, only to find it to be a waste of time at the end of the day (or night, in this case), and still have to re-take the tracks anyway.

You can do this with Acid loops or Cakewalk 'Groove Clips', There is a section in the manual on Groove Clip creation.
